Math You Be My Valentine?
Who says math doesn’t have any romantic sense ? :p
February 14th is coming soon and the spirit of Valentine’s Day is booming everywhere. Not even a Romantic math geek can avoid that spirit. Many say math can’t be fun but apparently we can have fun with math. *only if we understand it* Unfortunately, just few can understand it well. LOL
Go and try to type this equation into Google Search:
sqrt(cos(x))*cos(300x)+sqrt(abs(x))-0.7)*(4-x*x)^0.01, sqrt(6-x^2), -sqrt(6-x^2) from -4.5 to 4.5
This was tipped originally by a twitter user @Huckberry .
He showed the fact that typing in the algebraic equation plots several different functions on a graph that forms the shape of a heart.
It has various trigonometry and algebraic functions which was taught in high school before. The plotted lines change direction due to the absolute value function flipping the sign of the x-coordinate, creating a mirror image across the y-axis. What fills the heart is the ‘300’ number in the equation. The ‘cos(300x)’ was included to make the line go up and down as it leaves traces which shows us colored-in effect.
This formula wasn’t made by Google on purpose. It’s a pure user invention. Some user often find interesting stuff by typing words into Google Search. I, myself once saw Batman’s logo also made in graph but I couldn’t find it where now.
Happy Valentine’s Day! :)
